The Weepers
were a little bit country and a little bit ... well ... even more country.
So country they were cool. They explored the Apalachian spirit of the earliest string bands deeply enough to evoke Celtic echoes of the Old World.
If the blues and country music came together in Memphis to beget Rock & Roll, then this music is the cultural counterbalance to whatever Robert Johnson brought back from the cross roads.
Even so - it's the song that pulls you in, and the story that makes you feel at home.
